The Wine Guide
offers all wineries the opportunity to have their wines reviewed by our
independent staff and to have those reviews posted to the Wine Guides' web site.
Our tasting panel consists of Alan 'Tom' Thomas (Tom has been writing reviews
for the Wine Guide for 5 years) Steve Cukrov (editor - Travel Envoy's Wine
Guide) & Louise Shumbris (publisher - Travel Envoy's Wine Guide).
We use a simplified scoring system of 1 - 4 glasses. We have found that most
people are intimidated by the 100 point scale. Our goal is to present reviews in
such a way that the consumer feels confident they have made a wine selection
they will be satisfied with.
4 glasses - Highly Recommended (an exceptional wine)
3 glasses - We love it (a very good wine)
2 glasses - We like it (an average wine with no particular flaws)
1 glass - Save your money (a flawed wine with no merit)
Comparing to the 100 point scale a four glass rating would fall in the 90+
range;
3 glasses = 85 - 89 range; 2 glasses = 80 - 84 points; & 1 glass less than 80
points.
