Bodegas Leganza

1998 BODEGAS LEGANZA Condesa De Leganza Crianza La Mancha This thing has aromatics that make your jaw drop. The nose is huge and is redolent of brown sugar, buttered popcorn, massive amounts of sweet oak and, oh, yes, dark berry fruit. Moderately ripe fruit flavors show up on the palate conveyed in a medium body with tannins that get firm on the finish. Its 100% Tempranillo and loaded with personality. Cant help thinking of grilled lamb chops to calm those tannins when I taste this very exotic and Old World style wine.                                             06/25/02                Tom
