1995 SPRINGBOK Pinotage, Western
Cape
South African red based on a grape derived from Pinot Noir has complex aromas
of raisins and licorice with suggestions of earth and leather. Flavors don't
disappoint either, with dark fruit, raisins, and a flash of chocolate, which
linger nicely on the palate. Even with a trace of slightly bitter oak in
the finish, the soft, round mouthfeel, accompanied by a nice little bit of
acidity, make this an amazing wine for the price!
