Light grassy green colors get your attention in this high alcohol (13.8%)
Chard, bringing with it a soft, round body. It has interesting aromas of
herbs, grass and oak, giving no indication of the huge clove flavors which
follow. Honey and vanilla precede the clove, which is very nice but, alas,
bitter oakiness dominates the palate on the finish, undoing all the good done
heretofore. Pity! But, hey, with a Wine Spectator rating of 87?!? and only 410
cases produced, maybe we're wrong!
