Valley of the Moon Winery
1997 VALLEY OF THE MOON Chardonnay,
Sonoma County
Tangerine
and melon aromas make up the bouquet, accompanied by a distinct mineral
edge. Then spicy fruit flavors yield to vanilla on the ample finish.
Lacking much roundness and butter with very little evidence of oak, the
mineral note seems to dominate in the end, tending to muck things up.
