ROBERT STEMMLER 2000 Pinot Noir, Somoma County
Smoky, leathery notes accompany raspberry fruit scents on the nose. The palate picks up lots of ripe fruit flavors, carried in a medium body. The fruit is plush and shows some nice length.
But with only modest aromatics and rather monochromatic fruit flavors, this ends being a bit pricey. It seems that prices of Pinot Noir are gradually moving into the pain threshold. This wine is no exception.
