1998 SAN SIMEON Chardonnay,
Monterey
From
the Pellegrini family of wines. It's a well behaved Chard packed with
lots of spritzy citrus. It presents modest aromas of smoky ripe melon
and apple, with a tease of vanilla. But, on the palate, grapefruit
rules. Oh, melon and ripe apple are there, with just a touch of oak and
vanilla, but we are talking zingy, spicy citrus. Not for lovers of
buttery, oaky Chards. But perfect for those who want to pair a
Chardonnay with food.
