Lake Sonoma Winery
1999 LAKE SONOMA Zinfandel,
Dry Creek
The
wine under review is OK, but those who, like myself, include Zinfandel in
the list of their favorite five wines, and have tried several different
brands will consider it almost plain. The aroma is not too intense nor
complex. It has the usual prune and black cherry with a pleasant oak
finishing, but it is not yet fully developed. It may become better in two
or three years. In the mouth it is pleasantly warm and tannic. Since the
wine is young, it has still some freshness and the alcoholic component
that one feels on the tongue is not as soft as it should be.
