1997 HAWLEY Merlot,
Dry Creek Valley
Impressive
deep, dense purple colors emit aromas of ripe berries and plums, with a
nuance of vanilla. Soft and luxurious, with deep ripe fruit flavors,
notes of menthol and sandalwood lurk in the background. But the fruit
prevails in the end with a nice, lingering finish that carries just a
flavor memory of the herbs.
