A
promising nose of wet earth, sweet apple and smoke make you forget to
wonder where the cherry and berry fruit, normally encountered in a
Pinot, went. Candied cherry flavors finally signal their presence on the
palate, albeit in a restrained fashion. While the other offerings from
"Gallo Fine Wine, Inc." are impressive, another example of the
vagaries of the Pinot Noir grape shows through.
