2000 FERRARI CARANO Fume Blanc, Sonoma County Heres another example of Sauvignon Blanc vinified with partial barrel fermentation and French oak aging. What you get is suppressed varietal character: lots of honeyed tropical fruit delivering softness to the palate, with a component of citrus to provide some zip. While this effort falls a little short of elegant, depending upon your mood, this Fume could be right for you. About $15.                      04/27/02                     Tom
