1998 CHATOM VINEYARDS
Syrah,
Calaveras County
A
light bodied red with lots to offer. Enticing, but restrained, aromas
of
fruity bakers chocolate and coffee, with a wisp of smokiness.
Things get better on the palate where delicious ripe dark berry fruit
flavors emerge, presented on a bed of silky tannins. It finishes with
suggestions of smoky oak and coffee. Just wish it had a bit more body.
