1999 BYRON Chardonnay,
Santa Maria Valley
Pleasant
nose delivers aromas of oaky vanilla mixed with orange zest and ripe
melon. With lots of acidity on entry, things soften a bit when subtle
notes of vanilla emerge on the finish. Not big, rich and buttery by any
means, it still comes off as an elegant, delicious rendition of California
Chardonnay. About $20.
