1999 BARNWOOD VINEYARDS Cabernet Sauvignon  Santa Barbara County Lot 33 This product of mature Santa Barbara County highland fruit offers up aromas of sweet ripe cherries and blue plums. Sweet oak and smoke join in on the palate, evoking suggestions of violets and cedar. The flavors exhibit staying power and cap off the presentation of this wine, with its medium body and soft tannin. With the ever escalating prices of red wines from Napa Valley, this Cab, that uses hand picked grapes from the oldest section of the vineyard, is a bargain at $17.       12/03/01         Tom
