1996 SPRINGHILL CELLARS Reserve Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley

This
is a "good news, bad news" wine. First, the good news:
intense aromas of waxy, ripe raspberries dominate the bouquet and are
joined by mint and eucalyptus on the palate. Then, the bad
news: the wine's medium body carries slightly chewy tannins
and a bit of bitterness. With some aeration, it softens a bit and the
fruit takes on an interesting fermented character, but, for $40, we have
to say, "one glass." 02/06/00
