1997 TURNBULL Sangiovese,
Napa Valley, Oakville
All
starts with a modest, but complex and compelling, nose of sweet oak and
ripe blueberries that slowly reveals a floral edge of fresh violets. The
palate experiences flavors of fruit encased in sweet oak, with the
tannins finishing a little firm and the berries a little tart. You can't
help notice the beautiful glycerin legs on the rim of the glass but it
turns out to be fairly light bodied, yet it still projects a sense of
richness. Lots to keep your interest here. About $18.
