1998 TRUCHARD Pinot Noir, Napa Valley Carneros Rife with candied, fermented raisins and ripe plums, carrying a smoky, herbal edge, with suggestions of burnt butter. Exhibiting a classic Pinot Noir body, supple, yet light, the smoky, herbal notes flow onto the very ample finish. The bouquet is complex and totally captivating, with everything flowing beautifully onto the palate. An elegant, refined Carneros Pinot.  About $28.              10/24/00             Tom
