1999 SELENE Sauvignon
Blanc, Carneros, Hyde Vineyards
Lemon lime citrus is the
backbone but it offers up strong suggestions
of passion fruit and roses, a little like Gewurztraminer. The
bouquet is modest but
intriguing and spicy effervescence is ever present on the
palate. Everything yields to the floral notes on the
finish. Medium bodied, but not
particularly rich or full. Falls short of wine maker
Mia Klein's earlier vintages, she being known as a devotee of
the Sauvignon Blanc
grape.
