1998 ROMBAUER Zinfandel,
El Dorado
It's
a broad shouldered monster of a wine, with massive plump, ripe dark
berry and cherry flavors. It comes off sweet but not by residual sugar
but rather by it's alcohol at 16.3%! While it carries modest aromatics,
the flavors are not and might be perfect for the sensory challenged.
It's almost over the top, with huge tannins that are barely kept in
check by the fruit. Subtle it is not.
