Like
most 1998 Chards from Napa, the Keenan rendition is on the steely and
austere side but has plenty going for it to make it interesting. It
displays complex aromas and flavors of flowers, pineapple, tropical
fruit, vanillin, smoke and spice, all framed by a subtle mineral
quality. A very long finish shows off spicy citrus and lots more
vanillin. Despite all the complexity, the main theme in this medium
bodied offering is crisp lemon lime citrus.
