1997 PINE RIDGE Chardonnay,
Napa Valley, Stags Leap District
Fig,
guava and ripe pineapple aromas comprise the bouquet, along with nuances
of smoky vanilla. The tropical fruit shows up on the palate joined by lots
of citrus, eventually ending in a lasting spicy oak finish. Not a lot of
butter and flab, but rather an austere, but clean, Chard rendition.
