Here is a Napa Valley offering from Cheryl Emmolo, ex-wife of Chuck Wagner of Caymus fame. Citrus and ripe white melon flavors marry with honeyed, smoky notes on the palate. Its crisp and refreshing but exhibits some softness resulting from 60% barrel fermentation and six months sur lie aging. The holistic impression is one of elegance and understatement.
