1998 ELYSE Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley Rutherford Another treat from this premium producer. Enormously complex, albeit restrained, bouquet of ripe cherry aromas laced with licorice, anise and fennel, with suggestions of sage, a dollop of smoky oak and a hint of eucalyptus. Even at its tender age the tannins are soft and silky and come wrapped in a medium body. The finish is sweet and long, with the ripe fruit fading to bakers chocolate. The ripeness of fruit and the concentration and complexity of flavor make for a delicious Cab.  About $28.           10/03/00
