Elyse Wine Cellars

1997 ELYSE Napa Valley Red "Jake's Cuvee" Red table wine made from a number of Rhone varietals. Cinnamon and clove ride atop mega-fruity flavors of plums and black cherries. The fruit is ripe and plump and the tannins non obtrusive in this medium bodied nice sipping red. It all begins with an appealing bouquet of dark ripe fruit, with a smoky oaky spicy edge and ends in a nice long finish where the fruit prevails. Delicious! Brings to mind rib eyes and lamb chops.  Around $14.      07/24/00
