1998 ELYSE Zinfandel,
Napa Valley Morisoli Vineyard
It
starts with a bouquet of very sweet, very ripe raspberry jam and candied
cherries with smoky oak edge. Rich, highly extracted flavors of candied
black cherries with silky smooth tannins are delivered in a medium body.
The fruit is very, very ripe, maybe overripe, and extends onto a very
pleasant finish. But everything comes off a little warm and is not quite
up to the stunning 1997 vintage. About $24.
