2000 ECHELON Chardonnay, California
This Chalone second label effort bathes the palate with lots of citrus and spice which finally yields to notes of honeyed tropical fruit. The tropical fruit finish is joined by enough citrus acidity to balance things out nicely. Theres oak working here, too. But its subdued and provides plenty of varietal character to come through to please the most ardent Chard lover.
