Beringer Vineyards

1997 BERINGER Pinot Noir, North Coast  This is a wonderful Pinot Noir. Its bouquet is strong and distinctive, and has many flowery and fruity notes that come out one after the other as the wine opens up. The dominant note is the ripe cherry, but one can also feel the prune, cyclamin and a touch of pepper and oak in the finish. It is imperative to let the wine breathe for at least half an hour before serving to enjoy it fully. In the mouth the wine is still quite fresh, but at the same time it is pleasantly warm, soft and quite tannic.
