1996 BERINGER Alluvium Blanc,
Knights Valley
 
A
blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Viognier. Fermented,
smoky peach and apricot aromas and flavors abound, with major butter
notes emerging on the finish. A petroleum note on the attack mucks
things up a little, but the butter on the finish is sweet. The overall
impression is a little disjointed in that one varietal after the other
seems to appear and disappear. May be a little over the hill.
