The aromas of black currant, cherry and toasty oak lead into similar flavors

Dark ruby in color with classic "Rutherford Dust" notes of black cherry,

Aromas of pear, apple and a touch of honey. Fruit forward, with pear and
honey flavors. A medium acidity with a lovely finish with the fruit and oak
nicely balanced.

1997 BEAULIEU VINEYARD Pinot Noir,
Carneros Reserve
This
top BV Pinot provides earthy aromas and flavors of blackberries and
cherries that are joined by butterscotch and brown sugar on the finish.
It's medium bodied with modest flavors that lack the richness and depth
one would expect from a reserve bottling. On top of that, the fruit
turns disappointingly tart on a rather short finish.

1996 BEAULIEU VINEYARD Pinot Noir,
Carneros Reserve
With
the main theme being ripe wild berries and plums, creamy vanilla is
intertwined with the fruit, along with an interesting smoky meaty, beefy
note. Soft and smooth and very full bodied, particularly for a
Pinot, this is a lovely crafted wine of great complexity. Soft
tannins frame a delicious lingering finish of fermented fruit and
vanilla. With a price tag that makes it a special occasion quaff.

Dark,
ripe fruit aromas are accompanied by an herbal note, best described as
rose leaves. The flavors are impressive with lots of dark, ripe
berries along with suggestions of chocolate and vanilla, followed by a
nice spicy finish. Quite a wine for around $9.

Zingy,
spicy dark, ripe fruit with some jammy plum notes. Soft and
smooth, but with a flash of acidity. Surprising, but tasty,
macadamia nut-like finish.

1994 BEAULIEU VINEYARD
Tapestry Reserve, Napa Valley
A
Bordeaux style, "cinq cepages" blend, with aromas and
flavors of spicy plum and black cherries. Earthy cedar notes
accompany the fruit onto a lengthy finish, showing firm tannins and a
full body. Bound to get better with age.
