1996 ESTANCIA PINNACLES
Fume Blanc, Monterey County
Intense
golden yellow hues portend what is to come in this heavily oaked
California white. Aromas of browned butter and sweet fruit abound
in its huge nose, while flavors of toasted oak and vanilla dominate its
flavor and finish. This smoky Sauvignon Blanc has a round, buttery
mouthfeel, moving it far away from classic Loire Valley Sancerre.
A wine with an identity crisis, Wine Enthusiast Magazine rates it a
