1998 HANDLEY Sauvignon Blanc, Dry Creek Valley Unusual, but enticing aromas of citrus and herbs with a distinct sweet note, very complex and progressive. The flavors echo the bouquet with off dry notes on the attack which turn decidedly crisp, dry and flinty on the finish, with a surprisingly delicious residual of vanilla. Overall, the wine is elegantly understated, yet it's loaded with interest.  About $11.        09/26/00
