Te Kairanga Wines

2000 TE KAIRANGA Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough The 1999 vintage of Sauvi from this Kiwi producer was a blockbuster and this one isn't far behind. It features a delicious bouquet of sweet pea, quince, grapefruit, herbs, asparagus and peaches! Again, it's bright and bold on the palate, with jazzy, spritzy citrus flavors taking command, and suggestions of nectarine showing up on the lingering finish. It's all done in the "in your face" New Zealand style. These guys know how to make awesome Sauvignon Blanc. If you can find it, buy it by the case.  About $13.              09/06/00             Tom
