1998 LAKE CHALICE Sauvignon
Blanc, Marlborough "Platinum"
Being
80% fermented and aged in French and American oak, butterscotch and
burnt butter dominate the nose, with a nuance of tropical fruit. Citrus
notes bring some acidity to the palate, but the butterscotch gets pushed
back onto center stage, clashing with the acid. Not a particularly well
done wooded Sauvi.
