1999 HIGHFIELD Pinot Noir, Marlborough This Kiwi Pinot presents exquisite aromatics. Enticing fragrances of slightly candied strawberries and raspberries are echoed on the palate. Ripe fruit flavors carry onto a lengthy finish where they turn a tad tart, but are replaced by a lovely residual of vanilla bean. Light bodied with beautiful dark pink colors, it's a well crafted but pricey Pinot Noir that is sure to please.   About $30.           01/16/01          Tom
