2000 DANZANTE Merlot,

Sicilia
Following
a successful 1999 vintage, the 2000 version of this Italian wine made in a
California style (a joint venture of Mondavi and the Marchesi di
Frescobaldi) shows earthy dark plum aromas and flavors, but not much else.
While there is nothing wrong with this $9 Merlot, it completely lacks any
of the charm found in the prior vintage. What a shame. Tasted twice with
consistent results
