Saint-Veran Chardonnay "Les Perriers"
A
far cry from your overly oaked clich California Chardonnay, this
offering from Maison Burrier in Burgundy is perfect for someone in need
of a change of Chardonnay pace. Flavors of ripe pear and apple, that
carry a distinct floral edge on the attack, eventually yield to some
nifty balancing acidity. Devoid of any citrus flavors, the acidity
emanates from the pear and apple fruit, which turns tart on the pleasant
finish. This fruit transformation is most unusual and very interesting.
