Chateauneuf-du-Pape
From
the celebrated '98 vintage comes this southern Rhone red. Earthy,
slightly funky, aromas of fermented berries and licorice show up on the
palate. It presents a full body with moderate tannin, while the fruit
remains ripe on the lasting finish. Despite the outstanding reviews (WS
94, WA 90), the funky, fermented notes leave a less than enthusiastic
impression.
