1996 MONTES Merlot Special Cuvee,
Curico Valley

Promising
aromas of earth and dark fruit quickly get your attention, with hints of
raisin and cedar in the background. It's soft and round in the mouth and
light bodied. But it fails to deliver much flavor, black cherries, not
much else, with a slightly spicy, moderate finish. It's nice enough,
this red from Chile, but simple.
