1994 CEDAR BROOK WINERY Cabernet Sauvignon,
California

It
starts with aromas of dark, plummy fruit which give way to an odd, but
not unpleasant, sense of buttery beef, almost beef jerky.
The attack is dark fruit, black cherries and plums, but there's that
beefy note again, with maybe a note of cedar. With soft tannins
and a roundness in the mouth, it carries a long, interesting finish,
tough to decipher, but fun. For well under $10, you could do a lot
worse. 03/16/99
