1998 BIANCHI Cabernet
Sauvignon, California

Minty,
herbal notes dominate a modest fruity nose, creating a restrained, but
fascinating bouquet. The herbaceousness is echoed on the palate, with the
fruit continuing in a supportive,
but vital, role. Herbs yield to
butterscotch and smoke on an impressive finish. Light bodied, yes, and
tannin free, this is a
real unusual take on Cab. And the whole thing is
reminiscent
of Pinot Noir and is sure to raise some eyebrows as it travels
from glass to palate.
About $7.
